We would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for conducting a touching Veterans Day program honoring all of our residents who served in the military.
Christopher Weyer, the Community Education Representative from Heart to Heart Hospice, led the ceremony. Christopher, who himself is a veteran of the US Marine Corps, read a touching poem and individually recognized all of our servicemen.
During the program, the volunteers and staff from Heart to Heart conducted a pinning ceremony and provided each veteran a certificate in recognition of their service. Cookies from Donut Bank were served to everyone who attended the program.
The representatives from Heart to Heart Hospice went room to room visiting our veterans who were unable to attend the group service.
After the ceremony, our residents in attendance had their portraits taken with their certificates.
Heart to Heart Hospice wasn't the only community organization to recognize our veterans! The American Legion Auxiliary Newburgh Unit #44 also provided pins for our servicemen.
Students from Sharon Elementary School wrote letters to each of our veterans!
The Activity Department provided our veterans with commemorative coins and special hand-written thank-you notes.
